Eyad Fadul

Advisor, Vision Realization Office (VRO), Ministry of Hajj and Umra, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Eyad Fadul currently serve as an advisor for the Vision Realization Office (VRO) for the Ministry of Hajj and Umra in the capacity of project manager and consultant. He is responsible for delivering the International Oasis initiative, as part of plans to achieve the National Transformation Program NTP goals, he is a Torch barrier leading urban design, knowledge, financial, marketing and legal consultant’s teams.

Eyad has over 17 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design fields including project management, in local and international firms such as zuhair fayez partnership, Fluor Arabia and AECOM.

He also taught professional Landscape architecture courses at King Abdul Aziz university, and has experience in CSR field through managing Friend of Jeddah Parks (NGO).

Eyad has a Master's degree, Architecture and Urban Design from College of Fine Arts, Helwan university, Cairo, Egypt.

And a Bachelor's degree, Landscape Architecture from School of environmental design, King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Fawaz A. Alharbi

Head of Master Planning - Projects Development, Jeddah Economic Company

Fawaz, has over 17 years of practical experience which allowed him to obtain a diverse range of skills in his varied design, planning, infrastructure leadership and management roles. He was 1st trained as an architect and later as an urban planner, and has worked in both public and private sectors, which gave him the insight and the know-how to deliver.

He works now for one of the leading urban development companies in the region, Jeddah Economic Company. He joined the company back in 2012, this is when Jeddah Economic City was 1st conceived by HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin. His challenge was to materialize this complex vision for the city. During this period Fawaz utilized his diverse experience and skills in current international best practice design and planning trends for optimal professional output.

His key role in the company is to manage the planning and design aspects of the development, including, market studies, traffic and environmental impact studies and other related engineering tasks. This also includes all aspects of the design progress of the development and granting authorities’ permits for the project.

He is a frequent keynote speaker on topics ranging from master planning, infrastructure and mega projects.

Fawaz holds a B.S Degree in Architecture from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Mineral and a Master’s Degree in Community Planning and Economic Development from University of Cincinnati.


Don Sharp

Director of Landscape Architecture, Parsons

Don Sharp is a landscape architect with 25+ years of experience in the design of a wide variety of project types and scales including complex urban projects featuring high-quality, innovative public realm design and construction. He is a Licensed Landscape Architect in the USA, a past president of the Rhode Island Chapter of the ASLA and a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute in the U.K. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design, Don spent a year constructing prototypes of experimental earth-sheltered passive solar housing intended to be mass-produced in developing countries. After taking a summer course in Chinese Architecture, City Planning and Garden Design at Tsinghua University in Beijing, Don settled into ten years of local and regional practice in the USA.  During this time, Don also served as an adjunct professor of landscape architecture at Rhode Island School of Design, teaching a course in advance landscape construction. Don worked off and on for a total of over ten years as a Senior Design Manager, Project Director, and Design Director at Martha Schwartz Partners (MSP), a high-profile international design firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts and London, England, where his responsibilities encompassed virtually all aspects of professional practice. After a half year stint with internationally renowned garden designer Luciano Giubillei, Don moved to Shanghai for four years where he was a Landscape Design Director for Watershed and EADG. Most recently, Don served as Design Director at MSP, where he was responsible for concept generation, design direction, technical guidance, quality assurance, mentoring, and managing the team of 25+ designers in the MSP head office in London. At Parsons, Don oversees Parsons’ landscape activities in the Middle East and Africa. As a key member of Parsons’ newly formed Land Development & Buildings Division, Don is responsible for the technical and creative excellence of all landscape design and is responsible for developing the landscape group as a whole.

Mohamed Attia

Mohamed Attia is a young and energetic professional who always meet challenges in any circumstances to a win- win solution. At present, he is serving with one of the repute company by name Al-Othaim Leisure & Tourism Co at Riyadh Saudi Arabia. He has been enjoying his work with a huge expansion of leisure business within the MENA region as well sees as his current assignments for five-year expansion plan in Bahrain, Jordan, Oman and countries in Eastern and Western Africa and Central Asia.

Samer Kahil

Mr. Samer Kahil is the Executive Officer at Kidz Holding and KidzMondo with responsibility for strategic planning, business development, maximizing investments and discovering additional industries and opportunities for the KidzMondo brand worldwide.

Prior to joining Kidz Holding, Mr. Kahil worked in large-scale financial and real estate projects. Beginning his career as an auditor and continued to advance his skills as financier at several companies, including Deloitte, SARA General Trading, SCAS Capital, and MENA Capital SAL. in Lebanon and Gulf region.


Samer Kahil received a master’s degree in finance at Saint Joseph University and in addition to other certificates in Islamic Finance, real estate, strategy design thinking and from different well know institutions (MIT, INSEAD and ESA business school). 

Hrvoje Cindric

Senior Master Planner, ARUP

Hrvoje is an experienced, confident, committed and passionate Urban Planner and Designer. He has a proven track record as a designer, planner and project manager and has lived in the UAE for past five years.

Hrvoje has extensive experience in projects across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Asia and South America, working for public and private sector clients alike. He has worked on a wide range of projects from strategic frameworks to large greenfield master plans down to brownfield regeneration, urban design and place-making projects.

Hrvoje is fluent in Croatian, English and German.

Dr. Abdullah Addas

Assistant Professor - Department of Landscape Architecture, King Abdulaziz University

Dr. Abdullah bin Nidal Addas holds a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah (2006) and a master's degree in Landscape Studies from the University of Sheffield (2008). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield in the field of social and behavioural aspects in landscape design (2014).

Dr. Addas is currently serving as an assistant professor and faculty member at the Faculty of Environmental Design, King Abdulaziz University. He teaches a number of theoretical and technical courses and studios in the field of computers applications in landscape architecture.

Dr. Abdullah addas took administrative positions, including the department's public relation manger and other positions in the Landscape Architecture Department.

Rob Lockhart

Rob has more than 15 years’ experience with Dynamo Playgrounds in the commercial playground equipment industry.  Often commenting that he is a ‘professional at play’, he has had extensive involvement in the design of innovative playground equipment and transformative playspaces, which both have incredible positive impacts on the communities with which he has been privileged to work.

While leading Dynamo’s extensive safety and product testing programs, Rob is also a long serving supporter of safe play across the industry.  Contributing through positions on the ASTM and CSA working groups for playground safety regulations, both IPEMA’s Equipment Certification Committee & Board of Directors, and the NRPA Play Area Advisory Panel, Rob is at the heart of progress for safe and well-designed playspaces.   

Rob is a passionate crusader about the many benefits of good play, and the life-long impact that better play experiences can have on the children and families of communities globally. 

EHAB Al Amri

Founder, Ehab Alamri Urban Consulting

Ehab Al Amri is an experienced Urban Designer with 25 years’ experience in urban design landscaping and real estate development .During his career in Jubail industrial city as planning manager he succeeded to create walkable city center and re designed 6km of water edge to be commercial and tourist destination .Then selected to help revitalize Jeddah city. He initiated In Jeddah the redevelopment of Falastine streetscape to be an urban destination and pedestrian friendly he also helped to supervise the initial concepts of Jeddah new  north Cornish from car oriented waterfront to be human and vital waterfront. From 2009 to 2014 Ehab was the CEO of Jubail Real Estate co. Ehab now is running his Ehab Alamri Urban Consulting Firm which is specialized in Planning Urban Design, public realm improvement City revitalization, Retrofitting and landscaping.

Peter Scott

President/CEO, PDSI Group

Peter Scott has been significant influence role in the international urban and landscape master planning and design industry, since 1989 when he left Australia to form his own company with a mission to undertake projects in every country in the world. (So far 25)

He has a unique approach to integrating holistic sustainability into urbanism from the detailed urban design of places and spaces to the metropolitan and regional spatial planning scale.

Peter understands the spatial efficiency of landscape, land use and movement, and how it works with the economic and human dimensions required to make landscapes, buildings and spaces successful.

This approach has been used to great effect in work in 25 countries across Australia, The Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Peter is presently also employed as Director of  Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture with Khatib &Aalami – one of the largest Multi-disciplinary practices in the world.

Prior to that Peter was a Director of Landscape Architecture for AECOM.

Galal Abada

Advisor, Planning, Studies and Development, Madinah Development Authority

Galal Abada is an urban design, conservation and planning advisor, consultant and educator. He is currently the advisor for studies, planning and Development for the Madinah Development Authority MDA, Madinah, KSA. He is also an associate professor of architecture and urban design at Ain Shams University in Cairo ASU (on leave).

Dr. Abada was trained at Ain Shams University ASU, the School of Architecture Paris-Belleville, France, and the University of Leuven KUL, Belgium. He received a Ph.D. in City Design and Development from the SI, Stuttgart University in Germany. He is specialized in the linkage between the urbanism, historical, cultural and environmental, institutional development, and its relationship to the multidimensional design activities of various challenges.

Dr. Abada has been leading of outstanding technical contributions to a wide range of multidisciplinary urban development and design projects of various scales; from historical city and development and heritage sites conservation; to urban design and large-scale design and city development projects in Germany and Belgium, the North Africa, Middle East, with long experience in Saudi Arabia and UAE. He published more than 80 articles, research papers, critical reports and technical reviews in international conferences, refereed journals and professional magazines. He also contributed to several books on the Arab contemporary urbanism, conservation of historical cities and heritage sites.

Dr Giancarlo Mangone

Giancarlo Mangone, PhD, M. Arch., works on maximizing the sustainable performance of buildings, landscapes, and communities, both as a Master Urban Planner at Buro Happold and as Prinicipal of Symbiosis: Sustainable Design + Consulting, in close collaboration w/ municipalities, communities, and developers throughout the world.

Giancarlo's unique interdisciplinary + multiscalar social, economic, +technical infrastructure driven community development expertise, from the scale of buildings to cities+regions, is recognized internationally as pushing the boundaries of a project's social, economic, and ecological performance, and the ability of design to improve people's quality of life, through his development of award winning projects with deeply interdisciplinary and cutting edge project teams, such as experts in sustainable business development, psychology, public policy, + engineering, and invited collaborations with leading design + engineering firms, including Buro Happold, AECOM, Ken Yeang, Schmidt Hammer Lassen, William McDonough+ Partners, Transsolar, LOLA landscape architects, and Mecanoo.

Abdulrahman Gazzaz

Founder , BRICKLAB

Abdulrahman Gazzaz was born and raised in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Planning from the University of the West of England (Bristol, United Kingdom), and in 2015 he founded Bricklab - Saudi Arabia, a studio for developing architectural concepts based in Jeddah, with his brother Turki Gazzaz. He has a particular interest in architectural theory and research in materials, which ensures a particular focus on for each project, offering contributions on their particular social, economic and political contexts.

Khalid Meccai

Technical Support Manager, Alyaf Geocomposites

Khalid Meccai started his professional education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology. After a brief stint in textile industry he completed his Master’s degree in Technology in the year 1984 with a specialization in Geotextiles. Since then for the past 33 years he has been involved extensively in various facets of geotextile/geosynthetics usage. In 1996 he joined ALYAF Industrial Company, Saudi Arabia, and went on to head its technical support department for over 20 years. During this period he has been extensively involved in the design and construction of geosynthetics based civil engineering solutions in applications like soil stabilization, drainage, marine structures, landfills, etc. He brings in extensive hands-on experience of the geotechnical environment in the GCC and the specific demands on the Geosynthetic based solutions to suit them. He has been involved in the design and selection of geosynthetics for some of the largest Geotechnical and environmental engineering projects in the GCC. He has over ten technical papers to this credit including: “Geotextiles in Transportation Applications” paper presented at the Second Gulf Conference on Roads at Abu Dhabi, March 2004.

Ana Mateus is the Head of Design at GHESA Dubai since May 2016. She is a Landscape Architect graduated by University of Lisbon and has 20 years of professional experience in Portugal, UK and UAE. Has a proven track record as Landscape Architect and Water Feature Designer in projects across Europe, Middle East and South America.

Nabil Rashidi

Nabil Rashidi is the Managing Director of PremierQ Sports & Recreation and the Vice Chairman of Board of MFF Group. He is an experienced playground and splash pad designer and safety inspector. Nabil has been involved in several major outdoor recreational projects in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Furthermore, he has designed and constructed several innovative landscape optimization solutions such as lifeguard towers, unique water attractions, furnishings and unique play areas in Saudi Arabia. Nabil is currently developing new family attractions and play spaces in the Gulf, using innovative techniques inspired by the local landscape and culture.

Dr Abdulgadir Amir

Dr Abdulgader Amir is the Deputy minister for Technical affairs at Ministry of Municipal & Rural Affairs with responsibility for Drafting buildings and regulation polices and guidelines and technical manuals for city civic works and amenities .
Prior to joining MOMRA, Dr Abdulgader Amir worked in senior and high ranking positions  at several companies, including Municipality of Jeddah, Shamayel development company  and Jeddah redevelopment and regeneration company  mention firms you have previously worked for.Notable is his/her 10 years as vice and mayor and deputy minister for Momra and Municipality of Jeddah.
Dr Abdulgader Amir received masters and PhD Degree for the USA in architecture and urban planning from university of Washington 1990, Georgia Institute of Technology 1998 respectively  from 1990 t0 1998.
